Thank you for your interest in my background.
On a brief personal level, I’ve been happily married to my high school sweetheart, Larry Arcement, since 1983. Together, we have one wonderful son, who is married to our beautiful daughter-in-law, and one adorable “grand-pup,” a feisty, little, Jack Russell Terrier, whose name is Brody!
Professionally speaking, after a 12 year career as a certified court reporting, I decided I wanted to change my profession and chose to enter into the world of real estate. After successfully completing the required schooling at First Professional Real Estate School, in Metairie, Louisiana, under the live classroom direction of Dr. Roy L. Ponthier, Jr., Ph.D., and after successfully passingLouisiana mandated written examinations, I obtained my real estate agent’s license, from the State of Louisiana, in 1998.
Between 1998 and 2000, I worked as a licensed real estate agent for Prudential Louisiana Properties, in Chalmette, Louisiana, where I assisted both buyers and sellers. In the year 2000, I returned to First Professional Real Estate School, to receive the additional education required to obtain my broker’s license. After successfully passing additional state mandated written examinations, I became a Louisiana licensed real estate broker, in that same year, at the age of 35.
In February, 2000, I opened my own real estate sales office, Arcement Realty, LLC, in my Louisiana hometown of St. Bernard Parish. In addition to working as a full-time listing and selling agent, I was also the managing/sponsoring broker of ten other licensed real estate agents, plus managed a receptionist and personal assistant. Under my direction and ownership, and because of the hard work and dedication of “The A-Team,” as the agents and staff of my office were so affectionately called, Arcement Realty, LLC, quickly excelled and became one of the top producing real estate sales agencies in all of St. Bernard Parish.
Arcement Realty’s popular website address is “SellingStBernard.com,” and we were literally doing just that, selling St. Bernard, on a very competitive, non-stop, basis, up until the fateful date of August 29, 2005. On August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina struck, and totally flooded and devastated St. Bernard Parish. Along with the major flooding of my personal home, and the homes of my family and friends, Hurricane Katrina also flooded the homes of all of my clients, as well as my commercial real estate office building. Just like that, in the blink of “Katrina’s eye,” my entire personal and professional lives were turned upside down!
With the entire real estate market in St. Bernard Parish being totally devastated and flooded, I was forced to make the tough decision to relocate. My husband and I chose to relocate to Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, where we lived for several years, before returning to St. Bernard Parish, in 2019, to re-open my real estate office. Throughout my years of living in Breaux Bridge, I was affiliated with Van Eaton and Romero, Coldwell Banker Pelican Real Estate, and RE/MAX Acadiana.
Along with having the title of real estate Broker, I currently hold the prestigious “Realtor” designation, and enjoy being a past and present member of the following professional Realtor associations:
New Orleans Metropolitan Association of Realtors
Realtor Association of Acadiana
Louisiana Realtors Association
National Association of Realtors
